Huidong
Guan Jia Ping Zi Rehabilitation Home Year of Establishment: 1959 Population: 84 Ethnicity: Han People Affected By Leprosy: 53 Geography: The home locates at 2000-2500 meters above sea-level, 37KM away from Huidong County town, 5 hours drive from Xichang City. Economy: There are about 1000 mu of forest lands, and 300 mu of arable lands. Their major crops are corn, soy bean and vegetables. Other than the low income subsidy of RMB80-100 monthly from the government, PALs do not have other income. Infrastructure: The PALs live in the compound built by the local government and some of their family members live at building around the compound. Education: There is no school in the home, there are primary, secondary and college students study in local towns and other cities. |
