Environment, Infrastructure & Community Development

There are ecological disadvantages in many of the villages.  Examples include limited water supply for irrigation, supply of clean water for daily life, poor soil quality and the location of villages related to suitable land and conditions for farming.
The Project aims to facilitate community capability building by:
  • Helping to set up Village Development Committees (“VDC”) to encourage villagers to participate in managing community development matters in the village
  • Building multi-purpose centers in the villages to house the village clinic and the community library, and to act as the venue for VDC meetings and community events
  • Initiating livelihood projects in the villages and provide training and support on village management, agriculture and animal husbandry, etc.
