To get involved, you can either work as a volunteer or by donating to help the PAL to live a better life and regain their dignity. This is also the first step to fight against the social stigma.
The Leprosy Project began 9 years ago. During this time, our doctors, nurses, and social workers have worked tirelessly to provide health care and community development programs for the people in the 9 Leprosy Rehabilitation Villages in Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China. The majestic mountains of Sichuan Province belie the harsh lives of these mostly forgotten villagers. Rob Tinworth, a gifted documentary film maker from New York, traveled by car and on foot to three of the most remote villages in Liangshan to bring back their stories in this wonderful documentary, “The Children of Leprosy”. Rob financed his own trip and we are especially grateful that he has generously allowed us to share his documentary with all of you. I am honored to bring you this film. Please spare the time to watch it. You cannot help but be moved, not only by the plight of these people but also by their resilience and the hope for the next generation. Please help us to make that hope a reality!
